DescriptionA photograph of two portraits set side-by-side of Clarence Beyer, posing at the Cobb Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In both photos, Clarence is dressed in a wide brimmed suede fedora, thick wool jacket with a pin on the lapel, a large dark-colored bowtie, light-colored button-down, and has short hair parted to the side and swooped back under the hat. The image on the left reveals his left profile. In the image on the right, Clarence sits at an angle and faces the camera. The pin on his lapel is small and has a flapping flag insignia with what appears to be a helm behind it.

Clarence Beyer was the husband of Susan Cobb Beyer, daughter of William and Eddie Ross Cobb who owned a photography business in Albuquerque during the turn of the 20th Century, the Cobb Studio. Clarence Beyer was a civil engineer in Albuquerque and the owner of the Ross-Beyer Engineering Office from 1935-1965. He was responsible for naming many of Albuquerque’s street names and surveying the Southeast and Northeast Heights neighborhoods.
