DescriptionThis rectangular, cardboard box has red, black, and beige colors. The box’s front prominently displays the text “Throw Away Nicotine! Genuine Medico Filters” in bold lettering, alongside an illustration of a smoking pipe with a filter inserted. Additional text at the top states “66 Interior Cooling Baffles with Cellophane Exterior – Cool and Cleanse the Smoke.” The sides of the box read “For Medico Pipes & Holders – Made in U.S.A.” A small paper price tag, adhered to the top right corner of the box, reads “Fred Harvey 10¢” in purple ink. This tag signifies that the product was sold at a Fred Harvey establishment, a chain of hospitality venues renowned for catering to travelers along railroads in the American Southwest. Accompanying the box is a single, wrapped Medico pipe filter. The filter is covered in brown cellophane with red-printed text reading “Medico Trade Mark.” The reverse side of the box includes an illustration of a hand holding a pipe and text indicating that the product was manufactured by Medico Pipes Inc., based in New York.
