DescriptionA clump of bone wax, smudged from age. Bone wax is used to control bleeding from bone surfaces during surgical procedures and amputations. As a cut is made, the wax is heated enough to be malleable, and then applied to the source of the bleeding. Bone wax is generally made from beeswax and a softening agent, such as oil.
