DescriptionA bow saw with an attached blade. The main part of the instrument constists of an ebony handle attached to a metal arch. One end of the arch has a slot pointed away from the opening, the other has a bolt going through it with a ring used for tightening it. Attachted to the screw is another slot for a pin. A saw blade is slotted into both sides of the arch, and is tightened with the bolt. This type of saw was used for cutting large bones or joints.On View
