DescriptionOne of a set of urethral dilators, used to enter the urethra. The deep curves of the dilator indicate that it was likely used on male patients, the s-shaped curve meant to imitate the curvature of the male urethra. Dilators are used to widen the urethra and facilitate the passage of blocked urine. The size of the instrument increases with the diameter of the shaft. Both ends of this instrument are curved.
