DescriptionA cast and patinated bronze maquette for the sculpture The Dancer (1990). A Native American dancer, dressed in regalia, is depicted in motion. The dancer's head, which has indistinct facial features, leans up and to the right while his braids swing in front of his torso. He holds a short, cylindrical whistle in his raised right hand and a longer, organic object with feathers on the end in his lowered left. He stands on the balls of his feet, with his right foot in front of his left. The dancer's regalia consists of curved headgear, a vest, lines of round bells down both legs, and feathered bustles on his arms and lower back. The sculpture is black in color and mounted to a round, wooden base.On View
