DescriptionThis 1964-issued New Mexico license plate with the number “21,” featuring raised red lettering and design elements on a cream-colored background. The plate displays the slogan “LAND OF ENCHANTMENT” along the top edge, with “NEW MEXICO” inscribed at the bottom. A small green validation sticker in the lower right corner reads “NEW MEXICO 1964 No. 007318.” The Zia sun symbol, a significant emblem in New Mexico’s cultural and state identity, appears in the center of the plate. The license plate is accompanied by its original mustard-yellow envelope, issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles, with handwritten notations, including the name “Clarence Higgins.” This license plate is believed to have been issued to Clyde Tingley (1881–1960).
