DescriptionThis postal scale was manufactured by the Triner Scale and Manufacturing Company of Chicago, Illinois. It is the Gem Postal Scale, originally patented in 1904. This model was widely used across New Mexico in the early 20th century. The scale is made from cold-rolled steel with a black finish, and features elegant gold floral designs along the sides and face. A paper label displays postal rates and corresponding weights, with the label beneath reading "THE GEM POSTAL SCALE." The scale shows significant signs of rust, including heavy corrosion on the needle. On View
