DescriptionThis keychain is for Johnson & Thomas Conoco Service Station, a business located at 712 Bridge Street Southwest near Riverside Road Southwest in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The tag is rectangular with transparent plastic in an orange hue encasing the printed business information on one side that reads: "JOHNSON & THOMAS CONOCO / SERVICE STATION / Phone 2-0105 / 712 Bridge St. / ALBUQUERQUE, N. M. / FIRESTONE TIRES / DELCO BATTERIES." The reverse side reads, "OWNER'S NAME & ADDRESS," with the following hand-written information, "Mrs. Roy Ervin / 1823 Five Points Road / Albuquerque, New Mexico." A metal ball chain is threaded through the plastic keychain and linked together to form one continuous loop with a metal connector. During the 1950s, this service station played a significant role in Albuquerque's automotive history as Bridge Street (now Bridge Boulevard) played an important role in connecting communities across the Rio Grande.
