DescriptionGene’s Geep and Truck Parts was a prominent automotive service location in Albuquerque, operating during a time when personal vehicles and road trips became central to American life. Located at 506 Bridge Boulevard Southwest, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87103, Gene’s Geep served as a vital service station for both locals and travelers passing through the city during the late 1960s and 1970s. This circular key chain token is made of green leather with embossed edges, creating a decorative border. The text, printed in gold, reads: “Gene's Geep & Truck Parts / Phone 243-2551 / P.O. Box 1160 / 506 Bridge Boulevard Southwest / Albuquerque / New Mexico 87103.” A gold metal ring is attached to a leather buttoned strap for easy use as a keyring and there is a circular hole for the ring to go through. The reverse is blank. This token not only functioned as a practical advertisement for a local business but represented the importance of commerce on Bridge Boulevard, a street that connected communities across the Rio Grande.
