DescriptionThis porcelain souvenir vase encompasses a cylindrical shape, with a scalloped edge along the upper opening, also depicting remnants of a largely erased gold lining. Two heavily adorned handles are attached to either side of the base, each showcasing remnants of gold paint. A dark, indigo-blue color encompasses the surface of the vase. The center surface of the vase includes an oval frame, lined with gold, encompassing an illustration of the prominent, historical Alvarado Hotel, once located on First Street and Central Avenue in Albuquerque. The illustration depicts the building from what appears to be a slightly side angle. "Alvarado Hotel / Albuquerque, N. M." is written in serif lettering, just below the illustration of the building. The base of the vase appears to be composed of several rounded, arced edges. A gravy boat encompassing the same color, illustration, and similar adornments accompanies the vase. Additionally, a plate with scalloped edges, gold and light green designs, and floral motifs is visible. The plate also includes a slightly different illustration of the Alvarado Hotel in the center, encompassed by an oval border.
