DescriptionA large group of student protestors gather in the Beulah Baptist Church in Montgomery Alabama following a day of police violence in this black and white photograph. The church is completely filled with a large crowd of white and black men and women. The crowd is sitting in pews and the upstairs balcony, and some are standing in the back of both the ground floor and the upstairs balcony. The students are all wearing casual clothing and are facing forward towards the viewer. The balcony is made of a dark wood railing, with a clock situated in the middle of the railing. There is a window visible at the back of the balcony. The roof of the church is curved with a grid like pattern visible.
