DescriptionThis paper-hanging straightedge is composed of a rectangular plank of wood spanning seventy-two inches, or six feet in length. The tool's outer surface reveals two, slightly darker, parallel rectangular forms that span the entirety. Two small holes are visible on one side of the surface, likely for support when storing the tool or to serve as a pivot for further assistance when in use. Despite not being visible, the tool most likely once featured labeled inches and feet, possibly obscured due to aging. Following the two small holes, engraved text reads "W. F Munzer" in capital lettering, followed by "The Ridgely Trimmer Co / Springfield, Ohio" in smaller lettering. Significant lifting of the rectangular side panels of the tool is visible, along with discoloration and chipping throughout, signifying usage over time.
