DescriptionThis booklet features an illustration of a black train on a railroad blowing steam and carrying a plethora of orange cars behind it on the front cover. There are train tracks parallel to this one, which feature more orange cars. A bridge in the background is visible, along with mountains and various buildings, many of which have orange rooftops. The surrounding foliage beside the train tracks appears to be dried, light brown grass. The top portion of the front cover reads "Scenic Effects" in large, cursive, and vibrant orange lettering. Underneath this reads "For Model Railroads" in blocky black lettering. The lower right corner of the front cover features an orange rectangle with "Lionel Trains" written inside in blocky white lettering. The back cover of the booklet features the same landscape, and includes various mountains, trees, a house, and the train visible in the background. The illustration appears to be created using watercolor and ink, similar to the front cover. The lower right corner also features a dark-colored rectangle with "Lionel Trains" written inside of it in the same blocky white lettering. The first pages of the booklet feature a black and white illustration that spans the left page and the bottom of the right page, introducing the reader to the booklet's purpose. The last pages feature a bright orange rectangle spanning both the left and right pages, accompanied by large white text. Below this, a large motor diagram is illustrated, with text at the bottom elaborating on the corresponding parts.
