DescriptionThis platform was used for religious ceremony, hand-crafted from wood and fastened with nails. The lid is secured with hinges. This was created to house a bulto of the Santo Entierro, or Christ as he was lowered from the cross and prepared for entombment. Entierros such as these were used for ceremonial purposes during Holy Week in Northern New Mexico.On View
