DescriptionThis set of wooden building blocks is designed to resemble materials used in the construction of a house. Some blocks depict brick walls, while others resemble doors, fences, and architectural features. Despite the painted surfaces, the natural wood grain is still visible on the bottoms of the blocks. A few pieces are uniquely shaped, including triangles and rectangles, adding variety and encouraging imaginative play. These objects offer an intimate glimpse into the educational toys that shaped the learning experiences of American children at the turn of the 20th century. On View
