DescriptionNorth Second Street looking south from Copper Avenue in New Town, Albuquerque, New Mexico. At the left-hand side of the street is Chas. Zeiger Liquors with a banner hanging out front reading "Democratic Head-Quarters." On the right-hand is the Armijo Building on northwest corner of Railroad Avenue (now Central) and Second Street. The street is dirt with horses pulling carts, bicycles, and pedestrians passing through. Electric poles line the sidewalk on the right side.

New Town was one of the first Anglo settlements on Tiwa land in what is now Albuquerque, established about two miles east of Albuquerque's first Hispanic city center (contemporary Old Town). New Town spanned the railyards district and a few blocks west in Albuquerque's downtown.

Emulsion deterioration is occurring on the glass plate causing color distortion.
