DescriptionThis shot case encompasses a rectangular form, and the object's top-facing panel includes ten small holes, with a product number written beneath them. Above the small holes, "Made by / Vandergrift Mfg. Co" is written in the center, followed by largely obscured additional text that reads "Jamestown / N. Y". Below the holes reads "No. 40057" in the center. The front-facing panel of the case showcases ten, slightly larger holes, each numbered one through ten, with four, five, nine, and ten appearing to be taped over, likely due to damage or obscuring of the characters. Underneath this, eight knobs sit, each with a horizontally spanning handle. The bottom portion of the case reads "The Self-Weighing Shot Case" in large lettering, and a patent date of "May 10, 1881" is written below it in smaller lettering. Two rectangular drawers with white knobs at the front sit adjacent to each other, separated by a smaller, cylindrical drawer with a rounded front panel. The backside of the case features ten unlabeled holes, aligned horizontally across the surface.
