DescriptionThis Renaissance Revival chair was purchased by Ambrosio Armijo at the 1876 Centennial Exhibition in Philadelphia. It is delicately decorated with floral engravings and white upholstery. The backrest features a large, button-tufted white cushion, adorned with red and blue feather-like motifs, set within a wooden frame embellished with detailed floral etchings. The crown of the chair is highlighted by a distinctive floral design, with outward-blooming leaves and spiraling shapes. The seat is generously cushioned and covered in the same white upholstery as the backrest. The two front legs are turned, while the back legs are undecorated and slightly angled away from the center, giving them a gentle curve.
