DescriptionFather Luis Jaramillo watches as people and their animals walk by him as he conducts The Blessing of the Animals Ceremony in front of San Felipe de Neri Church in Old Town, Albuquerque, New Mexico. The priest sprinkles holy water with an aspergillum. Young boys stand on either side of the priest, wearing their altar boy robes. One holds a bowl of water for the priest to use during the ceremony. A group of people and animals are in line along North Plaza Street. A child carrying a duck with a small sombrero around its neck stands as the priest blessing the duck. A young girl puts a dog down on the ground behind them. People stand in a line on the sidewalk and watch the ceremony.
