DescriptionBrass gong (a) with beater (b) from the Alvarado Hotel lunchroom. The gong is held by a short leather rope connected to a turned wooden handle. The beater is made of wood, suede and leather.

The beater of the gong shows physical wear, especially along the surface of the vinyl covering the structural wooden rod. The suede kept around the beater's head also shows signs of physcal wear over the years of use.
