DescriptionAn Apache Gaan Dancer "Chief's Pow Wow" belt. It is composed of six silver oval conchas and one silver bow shaped buckle. The pieces are inlaid with black jet stone, iridescent mother-of-pearl, coral, Bisbee turquoise, and gold. They are strung onto a leather strap. The belt was owned and worn by Jay Silverheels, Mohawk, who played Tonto on the hit television series, "The Lone Ranger."
