Timothy App
App is originally from Akron, Ohio. His formal education in art began with independent studies at the University of the Americas in Mexico City in 1968. Subsequently, he received his BFA from Kent State University (Ohio) in 1970 and earned his MFA degree at Tyler School of Art at Temple University (Pennsylvania) in 1974. App's paintings have been exhibited throughout the United States and Mexico and are included in numerous private and public collections. In 1987, App was a recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship. Pursuing an academic career, App has taught at the Akron Art Institute, Claremont Graduate School (California), Pomona College (California), Tyler School of Art at Temple University, and the University of New Mexico, as well as the Maryland Institute of Art.
