Rick Nez

Rick Nez is a Diné sculptor inspired by the people surrounding him and those who have come before. Nez's time spent in Europe provided an appreciation for the artistry found in his heritage. In the early 80s, he spent time in Nuremberg, Germany, in the military. He used his free time visiting museums and galleries, absorbing the styles and details of the great artists in the European tradition. On his return home to New Mexico, he was motivated to make stone sculpture his life work.
