H. Cook Sporting Goods

This sporting goods store chain was based in Albuquerque from 1939 until 1969 when they were sold to Zale Corporation. They sold sporting goods but also printed awards. Owner Harold Gardenswartz made it part of a family business that specifically focused on retail. It became well-known across New Mexico for its Jewish philanthropy and community action.
