BiographyJohn Boydell (1720-1804) was an important English engraver and printseller who was responsible for the publication of some of the most important paintings of the Georgian Period. He funded and published a series of print collections that highlighted genres of art focused on master paintings, extraordinary architectural structures, and an illustrated edition of Shakespeare's plays.
