Daphne Marie Cobb1898 New Mexico - 1928
Daphne Cobb was the third of the Cobb family’s four children. The Cobb family owned a photography shop, Cobb Studio, in New Town, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Daphne was a granddaughter of Edmund G. Ross, the New Mexico territorial governor from 1885 to 1889. She attended the University of New Mexico for a few years before discontinuing her studies to work for the Cobb family photography business as a shop manager, developer, and master finisher. She was known as the local beauty. She died of tuberculosis at the age of 29 on the train coming back from visiting her brother, Edmund, in Los Angeles, California. Daphne never married and was known for her bold and talkative personality.
