Robert Flinkmanlives Albuquerque, New Mexico

Robert Flinkman is a New Mexican painter and printmaker whose work includes topics of local landscapes and social issues. He often paints, draws, or prepares an etching plate on-site. Robert received his Bachelors of Art degree in Art History and Art from Syracuse University. After graduating he moved to New York City to study with renowned printmakers Michael Ponce de Leon and Michael Pelletieri, and figure drawing with Gregory d'Alessio, at the Art Students League.

Flinkman relocated to New Mexico after spending sixteen years in New York. He was employed for several years at the University of New Mexico Law Library until his retirement. During his time there, he co-founded the UNM Law School Art Gallery. Robert furthered his studies in printmaking with classes in etching and aquatint techniques at the Remarque/New Grounds Print Workshop in downtown Albuquerque. He has shown his work in New York City and in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
