Albert Herman Woods, born Aladore Herman, was a Jewish Hungarian-born theatrical producer. His family immigrated to the United States when he was an infant and Woods grew up on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. He produced over 140 plays on Broadway. Woods built the Eltinge Theatre on Broadway, named for one of his most successful and profitable stars, the female impersonator, Julian Eltinge.
