NetFlix

Netflix is a streaming service and production company, headquartered in Los Gatos, California with international offices throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia. While the service caters to millions of subscribers worldwide today, the company’s beginnings were more modest. Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph founded the company in 1997 (in a small community in Santa Cruz County, California) as a way to sell and rent DVDs via mail. In 2007, the company began offering streaming and on-demand films. In 2013 they began creating their own content.
