Michael Kanteenaborn 1959 Laguna Pueblo; lives Laguna Pueblo

Michael Kanteena is the Laguna potter known for his black-on-white jars, bowls, canteens, and figures inspired by Chaco, Mesa Verde, and other Ancestral Pueblo pottery. He started selling pottery around the 1990s after earning a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts from Eastern New Mexcivo University at Portales, New Mexico in 1981. His work has been displayed in the Maxwell Museum in Albuquerque, the Wheelwright Museum in Santa Fe, and at multiple commercial galleries.
