Spiro T. Agnew1918 Baltimore, Maryland - 1996 Berlin, Maryland

Spiro T. Agnew was the 39th Vice President of the United States, serving under President Richard Nixon from 1969 to 1973. Agnew was a former governor of Maryland before being selected as Nixon's running mate. Known for his sharp rhetoric and staunch anti-liberal stance, he became a prominent figure in the "Silent Majority" movement during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Agnew resigned as vice president in 1973 amid a corruption scandal, pleading no contest to charges of tax evasion and bribery. After his resignation, Agnew largely withdrew from public life.
