DescriptionGrand Champion and Reserve Champion Lambs, owned by Earl Riggs of Arrey, New Mexico. Riggs is a member of the Arrey 4-H and he kneels between the champion lambs. Floyd Lee, President of the Wool Grower's Association, kneels beside Riggs. The lambs are called "Wrinkles" (left) and "Slick" (right). Each lamb has their prize ribbons laying on their backs. This photo ran in the newspaper and the caption below the photo reads: "Champions. Earl Riggs, 13-year-old lad from Arrey, N.M., who took the Junior grand championship in the fat lamb division at Thursday judging in the New Mexico State Fair, is shown above with Floyd E. Lee, president of the New Mexico Wool Growers Assn., who calls the 4-H and FFA programs in New Mexico the "finest character building and educational groups for boys and girls in the state." Earl has been a 4-H Club boy for two years, plans to turn money from sale of his two lambs Friday "into more sheep". "Wrinkles, left, won the grand championship. "Slick", right, was reserve winner."
