DescriptionThis rectangular canvas money bag was issued by the First National Bank in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The bag is tan with red drawstrings threaded through metal-reinforced eyelets along the top edge, allowing it to be securely closed. A black ink illustration of the bank’s multi-story building features on the front, with clouds drawn above the structure. Below the image, bold black text reads "FIRST NATIONAL BANK IN ALBUQUERQUE," followed by "ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO." A red rectangular border encloses the text and illustration, and a small printed line at the bottom states "MEMBER FEDERAL DEPOSIT INSURANCE CORPORATION." The First National Bank of Albuquerque was a major financial institution that played a key role in the city’s economic development throughout the 20th century. Money bags like this would have been used by businesses and bank employees to transport cash and checks securely. On View
