DescriptionThis image depicts Maria Chiwiwi carrying a water jar on her head in a residential area of the Isleta Pueblo located two miles south of Albuquerque, New Mexico on Highway 85. Chiwiwi is walking out of a doorway that is attached to an adobe building. She is walking towards the right side of the frame. She is wearing a plaid shirt, a dark colored poncho, leather shoes, and leg wrappings. The clay pot she is holding on her head is decorated in various Native American motifs. Another doorway can be seen to the left of the occupied doorway. The left doorway is coved in a large blanket with a Native American design on it. In front of this doorway six small bowls sit on another blanket on the floor.
