DescriptionSixty girls of various ages pose in six rows outside the school building of Loretto Indian School in Bernalillo, New Mexico. They are all wearing dresses, some are patterned. In the front row, several of the smallest girls are holding baby dolls. Two older girls in the rows are holding smaller chalkboard tablets. A larger chalk board is on the ground to the right of the group and reads, "Loretto Indian School, Bernalillo New Mexico. Established December 18, 1886". Three Sisters of Loretto are wearing black habits and standing behind the large chalkboard to the right of the students.On View
