DescriptionThis toy sewing machine was made by the Singer Manufacturing Company marketed toward children. The machine is finished in glossy black enamel with gold detailing, including a decorative transfer reading “THE SINGER MFG. CO., TRADE MARK” on the base, surrounding an image of a sewing arm encircled by laurel leaves. The manufacturer name “SINGER” is prominently stenciled in gold on the machine arm. Small in size and with a circular base, this model features a large cast-iron hand wheel with a wooden knob and a single needle feed plate, indicative of its lightweight and portable construction.
