The central chassis of the instrument features a calibrated beam, showcasing a fulcrum secured in place with a suspension hook in the center. Additionally, two metal suspension hooks are visible on one side, each connected with circular and rectangular mechanisms. Utilized for weighing heavy objects, the device includes an inscription reading "Villa Vicino / Año de 1770", signifying its connection to colonial Mexico during the late eighteenth century.
