DescriptionThis pencil was produced to promote the Benefit Association of Railway Employees, which was founded in 1913 in Chicago, Illinois. The group changed their name in 1917 to B.A.R.E (Brotherhood of All Railway Employees). The pencil has a large rubber handle, which is mostly white with blue text throughout. The text reads "BENEFIT ASSOCIATION OF RAILWAY EMPLOYEES/HEALTH ACCIDENT SAFETY & WELFARE PROTECTION/"There is no substitute for Quality"/JOHN F. MALLOY REPRESENTATIVE." There is a small bit of metal connecting the wooden pencil to the rubber handle. The little bit of wooden pencil that is visible is painted navy blue and has been sharpened. On View
