DescriptionThis compote is made of amber and lavender carnival glass with the Birds And Cherries pattern. The compote is shaped similar to a wine glass but on a bigger scale. It has a wide flat base that narrows into a thin stem before widening out again into a bowl shape. The rim and upper sides of the compote are curved in and out in a severe ruffled design. The outside is smooth, however the inside of the bowl has images that have been raised out of the glass. Around the rim are four flowers each connected to each other by curving branches, along with three cherries underneath each flower. From the flowers are also branches that continue down to the center. Between each flower small birds are sitting in profile on the branches, and at the center are four large flowers that point upwards. The glass is colored so that the bowl in top is amber, while the stem and base are lavender. A gold and rainbow iridescent sheen can be seen throughout the glass. On View
