DescriptionErnie Pyle sits in an upholstered armchair in the living room of his house at 700 South Girard Boulevard in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is leaning back in the chair with one leg outstretched on the rug. A floor lamp is beside him and a bookshelf is behind him. There are plates, small sculptures, and a metal teapot on the mantle over the brick fireplace behind him. He is holding a cigarette in his left hand. He is smiling toward the left of the frame. Pyle is wearing a button down shirt and blue jeans. On the top of the photograph, Ernie has written, "To John - Come join me in Albuquerque soon. Ernie Pyle." There is a crease in the lower half of the photograph.
