DescriptionStudents from the Albuquerque Indian School stand in a line on the left and smile as they shake the hands of students at the Mexico City Military College in Mexico City, Mexico. The students from Albuquerque wear long-sleeved shirts and jackets with jeans and several of them smile toward the camera in the background. The military students wear khaki military uniforms with ties and stand at attention while waiting to shake the hands of the Albuquerque students as they walk by. The two groups are standing outside. A tall building with arched windows is in the background, near the left of the frame. A typed caption on the back of the photograph reads, "Indians of Two Countries Meet Mexico City - The Indians of the graduating class at the Albuquerque, N.M., Indian Service School, (right) shake hands with Mexican Indian boys of the Mexico City Military College here. The American Indian boys earned $2,000 to make this good will pilgrimage to establish even closer contacts with their southern neighbors. Credit Line (ACME) NY CHI SA 6/17/41".
