DescriptionThis image depicts a closeup of one of the murals at the Albuquerque Little Theater in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This section of the mural depicts the hooves of a horse with a scrawl of writing under it. The horse is white while the hooves are black. The writing says "Battle scene of Christian and Moors in Santa Cruz New Mexico. First Gesture of the Religious Chivalry on the part of the heroic soldiers. Cap. Gen. Don Juan Onate in the Pueblo of San Juan Caballers, July 1598" and "Marking the Beginning of the Authentic Art of the Theatre in what is known today as the United States of America".
