DescriptionThe image depicts a wind-blown pine tree on the rim of the Sandia Mountains near Albuquerque, New Mexico. The tree is bent over to the right side of the frame. The tree's bark is weathered and has been toughened from years of harsh weather and the pines start growing on the tree about midway up. Below this, the branches are completely bare of pines. The tree is rooted on the slop of a rocky hill going upwards towards the right side of the frame. On the left side of the frame, the top portion of another bent over tree can be seen. At the base of the main tree are various other plants growing in between the rocks on the mountain."This old tree, gnarled and twisted by fierce winds and winter storms, with little water and thin rocky soil, loves life so much that it will not let it go".
