The Duchess is wearing a patterned jacket and a dark silk scarf. Her dark hair is pulled back from her face. The Duke stands on the right and wears a light-colored blazer with a dark tie. He has a nametag in his lapel buttonhole. People are in line at betting windows behind the couple. A typed caption on the back of the photograph reads, "THE DUKE AND DUCHESS OF ALBURQUERQUE --- they are from Spain and he is the amateur rider - at a race meeting at Epsom, Surrey, on August 26th 1974".
