DescriptionThis small, handmade table includes four rods, two of which display a "W" design carved in them. The table features a grooved surface, which is pegged with nails on the top. Substantial scratching and discoloration are visible throughout due to usage over time. Likely constructed by a carpenter and possibly incorporated as a typical, colonial-style side table in the home during the seventeenth century, due to its size and appearance of being unfinished wood, the table seems to prioritize function and simplicity over artistic detail and design, further characterizing the distinct features of colonial furnishing style. On View
