Arthur Hammerstein was an American songwriter, dramatist, playwright and theater manager. Hammerstein was the son of composer Oscar Hammerstein I. He was the uncle of lyricist and producer Oscar Hammerstein II (known for his collaborations with Richard Rodgers on musicals including The Sound of Music and South Pacific).
