BiographyAlfred Ernest Christie was a Canadian motion picture entrepreneur. His film career began in 1909 when he stared working for David Horsley’s Nestor film company in Bayonne, New Jersey. In 1911, he went to Hollywood to help establish the Nestor Film Company in Los Angeles. In 1916, he established the Christie Film Company with his brother, Charles Herbert Christie. Following the Wall Street Crash of 1929, the Christie Film Company was closed. Christie went on to establish another film studio in 1932 where he produced another 32 films before leaving in 1941. He then managed the entertainment at the Douglas Aircraft Company’s factory in Santa Monica until his retirement.
