Rogelio Naranjo1937 Morelia, Mexico - 2016 Ciudad de México, Mexico

Rogelio Naranjo studied painting at the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo. In Morelia he did some cartoons for the newspaper La Voz de Michoacán , but was never given the opportunity to publish his strips. A recurring theme in his work is inequality: the suffering of those in abject poverty, and the abuses of the powerful. During his long career he received numerous awards, including the 1977 National Prize for Journalism and the Manuel Buendia Prize for journalistic career in 1987.
