Woody Allen (November 30, 1935, New York City, New York – Present) American film director, writer, actor, and comedian whose career spans more than six decades. He began his career writing material for television in the 1950s. In the early 1960s, he performed as a stand-up comedian and developed a monologue style and the persona of an insecure intellectual. He began writing and directing films in the mid-1960s, and he often stars in his own films using the persona he developed as a stand-up comedian. He is best known for “Annie Hall”, which won four Academy Awards.
